A Zubio Massage should feel good at all times. If
anything feels uncomfortable during your massage,
please let your Zubio Specialist know.
Pressure
In particular, we want the amount of pressure we apply
to be appropriate. Working too deeply on acupressure
points can produce soreness in those areas the next
day, particularly for those new to acupressure massage.
Consequently, once your Specialist starts working
on the acupressure points, he or she will ask you
if the amount of pressure is comfortable, or if you
would like more or less pressure.
Breathing
Holding your breath is a muscle contraction and holds
tension. Exhaling is a relaxation and releases tension.
If, at any time during the massage you notice yourself
holding your breath, just exhale. In particular, when
the Zubio Specialist is applying pressure to your
back, let yourself exhale to the rhythm of the pressure.
Likewise, when the Specialist stretches a part of
your body, exhale into the stretch for maximum lengthening
of the muscles.
The art of doing nothing
In general, the less you do during a Zubio Massage,
the better it works. There is no need to “help” your
Specialist by moving your arms, legs or head, unless
requested, such as when he or she asks you to “Sit
up, please.”
